Missing Teeth can be replaced by partial dentures. After making a mould of the existing tooth structure, the prosthesis is fabricated at a dental lab and is held by existing tooth structure. A partial denture has better retention due to retention via existing tooth structure.
Complete dentures replaced all missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Impression making followed by a series of trials precede the finished product being inserted into the mouth. Since retention is derived of the existing soft tissue, it may take a while to function normally.
